My Typical Day:
I get up around 6:30 in the morning and get ready for a typical weekday at work. My usual breakfast is wheat flakes and milk. I drive for about 60 miles to go to my work. It takes approximately two hours. In my job I do experiments in the laboratory to solve problems which are exciting and challenging. I discuss results and ideas with colleagues in various meetings and also plan for future work. I mentor junior colleagues also. My lunch time is flexible. I usually take sandwiches and coffee. Before ending the day I take another cup of strong coffee. I start my journey home around 5:30 in the evening and reach home at about 7:30.

What I'd do with the prize money:
I would get an optical microscope with a digital camera for a local primary school. The system will help young students to get introduced to the world of very small particles all around us. This should be a great fun for them as well.
