  Hi Ruby,
  
  Thankfully I don’t operate on people’s brains, because that might freak me out.
  
  However when you first see the brain scan from a living person it is really quite amazing. I look at scan so often now, I have lost that sense of ‘wonder’, but I do remember the first time and it was amazing.
  
  Sometimes when I show brain scans in schools, the students react with an ‘urgh’, but because they are scans they don’t hurt the person, I don’t feel that when I look at them.
