Hiii paca480ate! Thank you, he is so cute, right! 🙂
I can tell you about how I decided I wanted to do a PhD as well!
I’ve actually always enjoyed maths & physics since school. I wasn’t ever the ‘best in my class’ but at some point I realised if you actually study for tests you can get better marks. Oops. I still wasn’t ‘the best’ but I think I did quite a good job in GCSE & A levels 🙂
After finishing school I did a physics degree at Durham University. As part of that, we got to do some project-work where we got to do research – rather than sitting in lessons & doing homework problems we actually got to be scientists learning new things about the universe! I thought it was great & I wanted to do more of it.
That’s why I chose to do a PhD! Because I get to spend my time doing research. I’m looking at tiny particles which are the building-blocks of the universe. I help come up with suggestions for what these particles could be & how they might behave.
Hope I answered your question! If there’s more you want to know, do ask!
