• Question: how much do you get paid as a scientist?

      As a PhD student, I get paid a studentship set by the government at £17668 per year!

      Well, I get paid £42,200 per year, which is pretty good for a young researcher, but is not as much as my friends who became engineers!

      Although money is important, I would STRONGLY recommend that you study to get a job that you LIKE. You will get money for it anyway. Think about it: throughout their life, people spend MOST of their time at work! So you’d rather fight hard to get a cool job and have fun during that time! I can tell some of my friends get a lot of money but get terribly bored at work every day and barely have time to use their money in a fun way…
