      Yes! Although, in technical words it is called the ‘weak force’.

      There are four forces in nature: the gravitational force, the electro-magnetic force, the weak force, and the strong force. You probably know about the first two forces, but you may not know about the weak and strong ones.

      The weak force is the force responsible for radioactivity. It transforms a neutron into a proton, an electron, and an anti-neutrino. So the nucleus of atoms loose neutrons during radioactive decays, that’s what’s called radioactive reactions.

      The strong force is the one responsible to holding the protons and neutrons together inside the nuclei. Without the strong force they would just go away from each other, and there would be no atoms.
