• Question: Why is it called Higgs Boson?

      That’s for historical reasons. The Higgs boson idea was proposed independently by different groups actually: François Englert and Robert Brout in August 1964, Peter Higgs in October 1964, and Gerald Guralnik, Carl Hagen, and Tom Kibble in the same year.

      However, Peter Higgs pushed a lot and did significant work on this for many years so his name remained. Good job for UK physicist, as he got the Nobel Prize for it in the end 🙂
